The charger module is the inner power module for DC charging stations (piles), and convert AC energy into DC in order to charge vehicles. The charger module takes a 3-phase current input and then outputs the DC voltage as 200VDC-500VDC/300VDC-750VDC/150VDC-1000VDC, with an adjustable DC output to meet a variety of battery pack requirements.
The software algorithm of the controller acts on the semiconductor power switches through the driving circuit, thereby controlling the output voltage and current of the charging module to charge the battery pack. This process involves a high technical threshold. 3. Advantages of Modern Charging Modules
When the charging module is in operation, the three-phase AC power is rectified by the active power factor correction (PFC) circuit and converted into DC power, which is then supplied to the DC/DC conversion circuit.
The charger module is equipped with input overvoltage protection, undervoltage alarming, output overcurrent and short circuit protection functions. The charger modules can be connected in a parallel system, allowing for a hot swapping and easier maintenance. This also ensures the system applicability and reliability.
The Station Charger can be equipped with up to 8 Power Modules, providing up to 400 kW of total charging power. The Kempower Power Unit can contain 1 to 12 Power Modules.
